New book looks at discrimination women   archaeologists faced

A few years ago, when David Browman, PhD, professor of archaeology in Arts & Sciences,  read his graduate student’s thesis on the early figures in Americanist archaeology, he immediately asked, “Where are all the women?” He wound up writing a book to help answer that question.

Rare gene variants double risk for Alzheimer’s disease

Robert and Barbara Frick commit $5 million to new facilities for Olin Business School

Robert (BS ’60, MBA ’62) and Barbara Frick have made a $5 million commitment to support the Olin Business School’s new building expansion, a $90 million project for two connected buildings — Knight and Bauer halls — that will add 175,000 square feet and span five levels. The buildings will be dedicated May 2.

National Academy of Inventors elects Chancellor Wrighton as Fellow

Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, holder of 16 patents, has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. He and other new fellows will be inducted during the academy’s annual conference in March.
